Tim Cavin is an American entrepreneur, U.S. Army veteran and former investigator. He is the founder of Rip It Labs, an Arizona software company that develops AI agents and blockchain-based tools for verifying records.[1][2]
Military service
Cavin served in the United States Army from 1997 to 2005.[1]
Investigations career
After leaving the Army, Cavin worked as an investigator for 20 years, including Special Investigations Unit (SIU) work with Arizona Investigative Services and other investigation firms.[1]
He also served as President of Cavin Research Group, a research and development firm that is no longer active.[1]
Cryptocurrency
Cavin has been involved with cryptocurrency since 2012, the era of OpenCoin (originally NewCoin), the company later renamed Ripple. He has contributed to open-source cryptocurrency projects since that time.[1]
Rip It Labs
Cavin founded Rip It Labs, LLC in Arizona on February 25, 2026[2] and serves as its chief executive, chief technology and chief operating officer. He has called it the greatest project of his life.[1] Under his direction the company built RILBOT, an AI agent marketplace; RIL Warden, a gateway that restricts and records AI agent activity; RILchain and RILoracle; VoteChain; ProofRail; RILDocs; CyberStrike; the AEGIS and SHIELD defense tools; and the RIL token on XDC mainnet.[3][4] The company registered as a federal vendor in SAM.gov in September 2026.[5]
